The Turkish boss took a team that was on the edge of relegation to a solid, mid-table finish. Had it not been for Reading's points deduction, City would have played their football in League One last season. Now they're hoping to build on their positive 2023/24 Championship campaign by having a good summer transfer window.

They got as high as being in and around the play-off places, which is incredible given the resources that Bulut was given to work with, and their expectations, based on the prior season.

Now the aim of the club is to challenge for one of the top six spots. To do that, they will need to be clever in their recruiting and hold onto their best players. Based on the latest reports, that may be hard to do, but there are options out there that could improve the team.

Here, Football League World has collated all the latest transfer stories about the Bluebirds.

Summer transfer plans laid out

The positions which Cardiff need to address over the next couple of months have been talked over by the manager and club officials.

Paul Abbandonato has said that the additions that the club will look to make in the summer window will include two strikers, a midfielder, a winger & a central defender. He added that Cardiff are looking abroad as well as in the UK for options.

A number nine has been a priority for a while now. The Bluebirds really wanted to bring Kieffer Moore back to the club in the January window - Bulut later admitted as much - but he ended up going to Ipswich Town and helped them to win automatic promotion for the second successive season.

Old striker target now available

City are unlikely to bring their former forward back to the Welsh capital this summer, but one man that they could attempt a move for is Sevilla's Musa Drammeh.

Cardiff, Birmingham City and Sunderland were all reported to be keen on signing the striker this summer, according to Football Insider, and he has now been released by the Spanish side.

The 22-year-old Gambian scored 10 goals for Sevilla's reserve team, Sevilla Atlético, last season.

Premier League interest in Rubin Colwill

Darren Witcoop has said that Ipswich Town are admirers of Cardiff midfielder Rubin Colwill.

The 22-year-old product of the Bluebirds' academy is a player that the reigning Championship Manager of the Season, Kieran McKenna, quite likes, but Witcoop added that the expectation is that Colwill will stay where he is.

The attacking midfielder didn't have the most productive of campaigns last time out, only providing three combined goals and assists in 36 league appearances. But that can be caveated because he only started 14 of those 36 matches, and played an average of 45 minutes per game, according to Sofascore.
