The Juventus Women’s First Team are stepping up their preparations for the 2025/26 season. On Thursday, 14 August at 18:00 CEST, the Bianconere will take to the pitch at the Arena Civica in Milan against Como Women in the 2025 edition of the Women's Cup, a tournament that Juventus won last summer.
Coach Massimiliano Canzi took stock of the team’s preparations on the eve of the opening Women’s Cup fixture.
“It's a great tournament, and we're happy to be part of it because we had the pleasure of competing and winning it last year, so we want to honour it as best we can. For us, it's a very important test because we're facing teams who play at our level, first division sides like Como Women, Inter, and Atletico Madrid,” Canzi said.
“We are entering the final phase of our preparations. We’re not yet where we need to be, but that’s normal because this year, in particular, the girls returned to the club at different times, so we need to bring the group together. But we are on the right track, so in the coming days we will focus on the fitness aspect, at the same time as the tactical work.”
“Regardless of the results, the matches coming up will be very important to test ourselves and improve our fitness. Tomorrow [14 August], Como will be a difficult opponent. They have a very good coach who works consistently hard. I expect a team playing at a high level, which has also strengthened over the summer,” Canzi explained.
"Martina Rosucci will be the captain this season, which is something we are very happy about. Both myself and the club felt it was the most logical solution, because Martina is a true leader of this group, both on the pitch and in the dressing room. She sets the right example, both to the younger and more experienced players. I am proud that she is the captain of the team."
