First on the agenda will be to make the signing of João Cancelo permanent.

Portuguese international Cancelo has of course spent the season to date on loan in Catalunya’s capital, impressing in establishing himself as an integral member of Xavi’s squad.

The plan, in turn, is to negotiate a cut-price fee with Manchester City, to make the 29-year-old a permanent fixture in the Blaugrana’s setup.

And, from here, two more positions will be prioritised.

A long-awaited long-term answer to the ‘pivot’ question at the base of the Barca midfield will be sought, with Everton star Amadou Onana a leading target at present.

And Deco and his team will also seek out a new left winger, with the ability to beat opposing defenders in one-on-one situations.
