Canada and Costa Rica both qualified for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup with a game to spare in their CONCACAF W Championship group.

The pair have identical records after back-to-back wins, Costa Rica starting by beating Panama 3-0, Canada hitting Trinidad and Tobago for six as Christine Sinclair’s opener  was added to in the final quarter by a Julia Grosso brace and singles from Jessie Fleming, Janine Beckie and Jordyn Huitema.

Costa Rica defeated Trinidad and Tobago 4-0 and progressed along with Canada after Grosso got the only goal to edge Panama 1-0.

The USA earlier qualified from Group A, to be joined by either Haiti or Jamaica, while the third-placed teams in each group will advance to the inter-confederation play-offs.
