O'Hare could be an excellent addition at Elland Road, with the player available on a free transfer.

Leeds United probably can't afford to splash the cash this summer after being unable to secure promotion back to the Premier League.

Their wage bill is unlikely to be low and in their quest to continue abiding by financial rules, they may even need to sell players to balance the books and ensure they avoid any sanctions, including potential transfer embargoes and points deductions.

Even if players are sold, it would be difficult to imagine the Whites having a sizeable transfer budget this summer, so they may need to use the loan market again to enhance their squad, whilst minimising costs.

In terms of the free agent market, plenty of potential options have already been snapped up by clubs, but there are some free transfers that the West Yorkshire side should be looking to get over the line.

Callum O'Hare, who looks destined to leave Coventry City when his contract expires at the end of the month, will surely be looking to secure a move to a team that have an even better chance than the Sky Blues of winning promotion, or he could be looking to secure a switch to the Premier League.

Callum O'Hare would be an excellent signing for Leeds United

He has been linked with a move to Leeds and this is no surprise, considering the attacking midfielder is a high-calibre player who can be a real difference-maker in the final third.

Considering the quality he has, O'Hare may demand a decent salary. However, he is available on a free transfer and that could allow the Whites to make him a generous offer.

Jack Harrison has already re-joined Everton on loan, which would have helped to lower their wage bill, and more departures could be on the way in the next couple of months.

Even if the likes of Crysencio Summerville and Willy Gnonto don't move on, it wouldn't be a surprise to see last season's out-on-loan players leave again, including Diego Llorente and Max Wober.

But if Summerville and Gnonto both depart, they will need someone who can register plenty of goals and assists at this level.

This is something O'Hare can do and considering he's only 26 and fully over his long-term knee injury now, he should improve on his goalscoring contributions record from last season.

His goalscoring contributions may be needed if the forwards don't manage to live up to expectations, with Joel Piroe enduring a fairly mixed first season at Elland Road.

On paper, both Piroe and Patrick Bamford should thrive next term if they stay put, but that isn't guaranteed.

Having O'Hare as an option is a real positive because of this - and with the 26-year-old already having plenty of experience at this level with Coventry - it shouldn't take him too long to settle in at Elland Road.

A strong start to the 2024/25 campaign may be needed if Leeds want to secure automatic promotion at the end of next term and the Sky Blues' star could make an instant impact.

Where Callum O'Hare could fit in at Leeds United

O'Hare isn't even guaranteed to be a starter next season if he joins, with Georginio Rutter (pictured above) potentially set to start in a central attacking midfield role.

Rutter could have Summerville and Gnonto starting on either side of him next term.

O'Hare could potentially play out wide in a 4-2-3-1 system, but he's more suited to a central area and if one of Summerville or Gnonto leave, O'Hare could potentially start and push Rutter out onto the wing.

The latter can also operate as a striker if required, and could benefit from having a creator like O'Hare behind him.

There are many possibilities - and Leeds need to do everything they can to have O'Hare in their starting lineup if they sign him this summer.
