Davide Calabria recently rejected an approach from Galatasaray as he looks to prove himself to Paulo Fonseca and earn a new contract with Milan.
The 27-year-old Italian right back has less than a year left on his contract with the Rossoneri and has been linked with a possible exit this summer, with rumours suggesting he could be included in a possible deal for Roma striker Tammy Abraham.
In the meantime, Milan are pushing to sign Emerson Royal from Tottenham, giving Calabria some tough competition for a starting spot in Fonseca’s squad. Last term, the club captain saw almost 3000 minutes of action across 41 games, scoring once and providing four assists.
Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com details how Calabria is prioritising a new contract with Milan and recently turned down a concrete offer from Galatasaray, keen to prove himself to Fonseca and the club’s management.
Due to Alessandro Florenzi’s injury, the Rossoneri aren’t likely to sell their captain this summer and will meet with his entourage after the summer transfer window to discuss a new deal once again.
