Club Atlético Independiente (C.A.I.) and Verdes FC will face each other for the first time in the Central American Cup and in any official Concacaf club tournament.
For C.A.I., this will be their second match against a Belizean club in the CCAC. In their previous encounter, they earned a 1-0 victory over Port Loyola on Matchday 4 of Group C on August 21, 2024, at Estadio Rommel Fernández in Panama City (PAN), with a goal from Aimar Modelo. That was C.A.I.’s first-ever matches against a Belizean club.
For Verdes FC, this will also be their second time facing a Panamanian club in the CCAC. Internationally, Verdes FC has a record of 1 win and 2 losses against Panamanian clubs in official tournaments: once in the Central American Cup and twice in the Concacaf Champions Cup. Their only win came in a 2-1 comeback over San Francisco FC on Matchday 5 of Group C in the 2015/2016 Concacaf Champions Cup on September 22, 2015, at Estadio Norman Broaster in San Ignacio (BLZ), with a brace from Deon “Mister Goal” McCaulay. Daniel Morán scored for San Francisco FC.
