Aston Villa have their eyes on Marco Asensio in the ongoing summer transfer window. According to a report in the Daily Telegraph, the West Midlands club are planning to strengthen their attacking options in the remaining days of the summer transfer window. The 29-year-old from Paris Saint-Germain is currently not getting a significant role in the Ligue 1 team, leaving his future open.
Villa have already started exploring possibilities for him. The English club are considering both a permanent deal and a loan. It is also reported that intermediaries have offered Asensio to big clubs in Europe, but nothing concrete has come out. In such a situation, Aston Villa have a chance to bring back their old target and the attacker who played for them on loan the previous season.

Apart from Evann Guessand, Villa did not make any major offensive signings in this transfer window. With the departure of Marcus Rashford and Asensio after the end of the previous season, the team’s attack is clearly lacking the depth needed to thrive in both the Premier League and the Europa League.
In such a situation, the arrival of another forward seems necessary for Villa. There are other names on Villa’s list as well, but it will be interesting to see if Asensio’s return to Villa Park becomes a reality or not. The Spanish attacker featured in 21 games for Villa last season, scored eight goals and provided one assist. ( Stats by Transfermarkt ).
If this transfer goes through, Villa will get an experienced and versatile forward who can play on both wings and centre positions. Asensio’s European-level experience will give the team an extra edge in big matches. His creativity and goal-scoring ability will make players like Ollie Watkins function even better next season in Europe as well. Considering the financial and contractual aspects, if PSG agree to a loan or a low-price deal for the 29-year-old Spanish attacker, this deal could become a reality for the English side. In our opinion, Villa should not miss this opportunity, and are right to turn their attention towards him.
