Cagliari have reportedly made an approach to bring Cyriel Dessers back to Serie A, but Rangers are asking for circa €5m.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Sardinians have asked after Dessers and been told that the asking price is €5m, more or less what Rangers paid to Cremonese.
That might be beyond their financial capabilities, but there could be a loan with obligation to buy if they stay in Serie A.
He had already been of interest to Hellas Verona and Torino in the January transfer window.
The Nigeria international was born and raised in Belgium, but opted to represent the nation of his family roots, scoring two goals in six senior caps.
The 29-year-old played for the likes of Feyenoord and KRC Genk before coming to Cremonese in the summer of 2022 for €6.5m.
He impressed, despite failing to prevent their relegation to Serie B, with seven goals and two assists in 29 games.
Dessers remained with the Italian side for just one year, moving to Glasgow Rangers for €5m.
His performances for them positively sky-rocketed with 22 goals and nine assists in 54 competitive appearances for the Scottish team.
