Manchester City have announced the signing of Jamaican striker Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw.

The forward will make the move from French club Bordeaux, who finished third in the Division 1 Féminine last season.

Shaw herself was the top scorer in the French league for the 2020/21 campaign, netting an impressive 22 goals in 20 appearances. The 24-year-old has also proven herself to be a formidable force on the international stage.

Her 42 goals in 30 appearances for Jamaica make her their lead goal scorer across both the men’s and women’s teams. With Shaw being such a natural goal-scorer, Manchester City will be hoping that her signing could give them the edge they need to secure the Women’s Super League title over Chelsea.

Throughout the 2020/21 season, the Sky Blues seemed to struggle to find the back of the net. With recent star signing Chloe Kelly sidelined following an ACL injury, Gareth Taylor will undoubtedly be happy to have signed such an attacking talent.
