Newly promoted Austria Lustenau visit

The Bundesliga is back! The Austrian football league is finally returning after a long winter - the My RBS Prediction Game and a first outing of our special new shirts included! On 11 February we are to host SC Austria Lustenau at our Red Bull Arena, with kick-off at 17:00 CET.

We had just over a week to put the disappointment of our cup exit behind us, but we are looking ahead with hope and purpose. We have five matches left in the Austrian Bundesliga's regular season in which to put ourselves in as good a position as possible for the championship group.

The newly promoted side are a really unpredictable proposition. After 16 matches, the side coached by Markus Mader are eighth in the table, well above expectations, but they need to get over the departure of the man with most goal involvements in the league so far, Bryan Teixeira. In our latest analysis piece we have summarised the goings on there and at all our league rivals over the winter.

We have plenty of reasons for optimism though - six in total from our last meeting in Lustenau in the autumn, when we won 6-0 at the western tip of Austria – in our biggest win of the season so far! Dijon Kameri capped a wonderful afternoon then with his first goal in the Bundesliga.

As usual we will have a live blog on our website providing updates on the match. The game will be shown live on Sky Sport Austria also. There is no place quite like the Red Bull Arena to watch the match from, however, so get your ticket while you still can and support our Red Bulls on their return to Bundesliga action.

Injury news

Dijon Kameri, Bryan Okoh (both knee), Justin Omoregie (back) and Samson Tijani (leg) are out. Daouda Guindo had a knee operation at the start of the week and will be out for an extended period. Karim Konate is ill and unable to play on Saturday.

I don't want to judge my players on Saturday on whether they take a big win or not in their first Bundesliga match of the year, but whether they perform as they can. We didn't manage that in the first half against Sturm, so that is what we want to focus on. You have to say as well that we were extremely efficient in the first meeting, and the 6-0 win flattered us. We will therefore go into the match against Lustenau with 100% focus.

Having the captain's armband doesn't change my role in the team much. I would like to be a key player regardless, perform as I can and always give 100 percent. Even if we had a big win in Lustenau, we know they are difficult opponents. We know that they are coming to Salzburg to throw everything into this big match for them. We are ready and equipped to face that.
