In a recent report, Gazzetta Dello Sport stated that Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria is dreaming of a move to Liverpool. It has been revealed that the Reds are in pole position to acquire the services of the Swiss midfielder.

Zakaria’s Impressive Run Of Form In German Football

Zakaria has been a solid presence at the heart of Monchengladbach’s midfield after producing a run of commanding displays for the German outfit. The 25-year-old registered two goals and one assist in 12 appearances for his current club this season on all fronts.

Should Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp Move In For Zakaria?

Zakaria has decent pace under his belt and can make some energetic dribbles with the ball from midfield. He is a solid tackler as well and has shown that he is proficient at securing the ball back for his team. Zakaria is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also assume the duties of a centre-back if needed.

The 40-time Switzerland international has got a good work rate and can use his strength to shield the ball and keep possession moving at the centre of the park. He doesn’t shy away from clearing his lines when needed and can even chip in by scoring and creating the odd goal from time to time.

A complete midfielder of Zakaria’s skillset will be a good addition to Liverpool‘s squad if Jurgen Klopp decides to offer him a chance when the player’s contract with Monchengladbach runs out next summer. At 25, the Swiss sensation’s best years are ahead of him which makes him a good option for the Reds in the future.

Zakaria has what it takes to form a dominant midfield partnership with Fabinho at Anfield but only if he can make a smooth transition to life in English football. With all things considered, Klopp should think about moving in for the Bundesliga midfielder at the end of this campaign.
