An interesting media exclusive on Friday afternoon regarding Bruno Guimaraes.

The Newcastle United talisman who has put in an incredible shift this season, as those around him have dropped like flies and ended up in the treatment room, often for lengthy stays.

Meanwhile, his excellent shift this season, on top of what had gone before, has seen Bruno Guimaraes increasingly the subject of speculative headlines, claiming he is off to wherever.

Today’s media exclusive is from The Telegraph.

They have revealed that Bruno Guimaraes has just bought a new house up in Darras Hall, the newspaper reporting that he and his family will be shortly moving into their new £4m home.

The report using this as a, very reasonable, indication that Bruno Guimaraes is set to stay at Newcastle United, at least for the time being.

They also mention in the report that Joelinton has just signed a new contract as well. Whilst I don’t see it as a deal breaker on Bruno Guimaraes staying or leaving Newcastle United, it certainly does no harm that Bruno’s big mate has committed longer term as well.

Bruno Guimaraes himself having signed a new long-term contract earlier this season. Both of them understood now to be contracted until end of June 2028, by which point the pair of them would both be in their thirties…

We all learn quickly as football fans that nothing is forever, apart from our lifetime sentence supporting this football club. However, as we all know AND as the players keep saying themselves, both Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes love the club and fans AND the feeling is mutual.

My feeling is that we will have Bruno Guimaraes at the very least for another season.

His first half season with Newcastle United saw NUFC have third best Premier League form in the second half of that 2021/22 season.

Then fourth best form last season, whilst even despite the horrendous list of regularly unavailable players these past six months or more, Bruno Guimaraes and his teammates have had the sixth best form this season, with half a dozen matches to go. Bruno himself in interviews has pointed to just how badly the number of missing players has wrecked this season, so I have no doubt that he believes that as a minimum, Newcastle United are capable of competing for top four next season and in the domestic cup competitions, whilst recent results mean Newcastle are in pole position to end up top six and guarantee some kind of European football as well next season.

Bruno Guimaraes will still only be 27 when the 2025/26 season kicks off, so as long as Newcastle United are competitive next season, hopefully we can look at least to a couple of summers time.

During his time at Newcastle so far, Bruno has gone from a little used Brazil squad player to now regular starter, so I am sure in his thoughts will also be very much ensuring he is in a good position to play for Brazil in the 2026 World Cup finals.

I also think happiness is a very much underrated factor.
