Manchester United star midfielder Bruno Fernandes has added yet another individual award to his already bursting trophy cabinet after claiming the illustrious UEFA Champions League’s ‘Goal of the Week’ award.

Fernandes, 26, only joined United in January from Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon in a move which cost the Reds’ hierarchy £49.5m, as per Transfermarkt.

Since the midfielder’s arrival less than 12-months ago, Fernandes has already emerged as one of the Reds’ most influential signings, certainly in recent times anyway, after racking up 34 goal contributions in 35 matches in all competitions.

United’s 26-year-old’s latest awe-inspiring performance came earlier this week when he put in a performance to remember against Istanbul in the Champions League group stage.

Fernandes could have easily bagged himself a first-half hat-trick but after shockingly gifting the spot-kick to team-mate Marcus Rashford, Fernandes was forced to settle for a respectable brace instead.

Prior to being subbed off just after the match’s break, Fernandes opened the scoring with a stunning rocket strike which came off the back off a loose Alex Telles corner.

Fernandes’ thunder-bolt has seen him be awarded with the UEFA Champions League’s ‘Goal of the Week’ award, as confirmed on the competition’s official website.

Congrats, Bruno – Very well deserved indeed.
