That's according to a report from Bristol Live, who say the 24-year-old looks set to make the step-up to League One for next season.

Hutchinson joined Walsall back in the summer of 2022, joining from Derby County on a free transfer, following the expiration of his contract at Pride Park.

Since then, the midfielder has made 106 appearances in all competitions for the Saddlers, scoring 23 goals and providing 19 assists in that time.

Now however, it looks as though Hutchinson is set to be on the move again in the summer transfer window, with Bristol Rovers due to be his next destination.

Isaac Hutchinson set for Bristol Rovers move from Walsall

As per this latest update from BristolLive, Bristol Rovers are making moves towards completing the signing of Hutchinson, as they look to strengthen their squad this summer.

There is currently 12 months remaining on the midfielder's contract with Walsall, securing his future at The Bescot Stadium until the end of next season.

That does mean that the Gas will have to pay a fee for his services. It is claimed that it remains to be seen just how much they will have to pay, although it is suggested that he does have a buyout clause in his deal.

Bristol Rovers are yet to make a first-team signing in the summer transfer window. Along with Hutchinson though, they are also thought to be closing in on a number of deals.

Goalkeeper Cameron Dawson, and centre backs Taylor Moore and Dan Ellison are also among those who have been linked with moves to the Memorial Stadium.

Last season, Bristol Rovers finished 15th in the League One table, 13 points clear of the relegation zone.

Walsall meanwhile, ended the campaign 11th in the League Two standings, five points adrift of the play-off places.

Isaac Hutchinson could be a significant coup for Bristol Rovers

This looks like being a useful piece of business for Bristol Rovers, if they can get it over the line.

The Gas themselves could be set to lose players this summer, with Anthony Evans being linked with newly promoted Championship side Portsmouth.

If Evans was to make that move, then there would be a need for Bristol Rovers to try and bring in another source of goals in the centre of the park.

Signing Hutchinson would allow them to do that, with the 24-year-old having made a big impact for Walsall in front of goal in the past couple of seasons.

Indeed, on the back of that form he has produced during his time at the Bescot Stadium, it does seem as though the midfielder may now be ready to make the step-up to League One.

He therefore looks like being a solid option for Matty Taylor's side, and at his age, there is plenty of time for them to make a decent return on any investment they make, further down the line.

It is worth noting that Hutchinson's contract situation also means he ought to now be a reasonably affordable target for the Gas, as they continue their recruitment drive.

As a result, these links that are starting to emerge, mean that the summer transfer window could soon start to become even more exciting for Bristol Rovers fans.
