Bristol City have completed the signing of Welsh international full-back Esther Morgan on a free transfer.

The Robins announced news of the deal via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

The 22-year-old defender joins Bristol City after leaving former club Sheffield United at the end of last season. Morgan spent one season with The Blades after returning to the English game following a spell playing her football north of the border in Scotland.

Morgan started her senior career with Tottenham Hotspur where she enjoyed some first team minutes. The youngster also had loan spells with Leicester City, Coventry United and Sunderland to aide her development. In 2023, Morgan joined SWPL 1 club Hearts on a permanent deal.

On the international stage, Morgan has collected 14 caps for Wales while she is still awaiting her first senior international goal. The player represented her country at UEFA Women’s EURO 2025.

After joining Bristol City, Morgan said “I’m delighted to be here, and I feel really settled already.

“It’s a really exciting project at the moment and I had some great conversations with Charlotte [Healy] about the style of play and as a player that’s really exciting.”

Morgan is Bristol City’s eighth signing of the summer transfer window.
