The Robins announced the news via a post on their official club website this evening.
The 18-year-old is a product of the Brighton & Hove Albion academy system and Johnson has gone on to make a couple of appearances for The Seagulls at first team level. The youngster signed professional terms with Brighton & Hove Albion earlier this summer. Johnson needs regular game time if she is to develop and she will now spend the upcoming season on loan at Bristol City.
After adding Johnson to her squad, Bristol City boss Charlotte Healy said “OJ is a really exciting young player who I’m really excited for the fans to see.
“She is a different type of forward to what we currently have here, but I think she’ll fit into our style of play fantastically.
“She’s a young player who has scored a lot of goals in her youth career, so after spending time in Brighton’s First Team, I’m excited to see her now get her opportunity in senior football in what will be an exciting WSL2 season.”
Johnson could make her Bristol City debut in their Barclays WSL2 season-opener at Birmingham City on Sunday afternoon.
