After conceding a goal within the first minute against Albania at EURO 2024 and against France in the Nations League, Italy became the lethal attackers for once.
Luciano Spalletti’s men welcomed Belgium to town on Thursday and grabbed a quick-fire lead after only a few seconds and just 17 passes.
Brilliant movement from the Italians, started by goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma at the back, eventually put the ball in front of Federico Dimarco as the visitors were sliced apart.
The Inter star then nutmegged Wout Faes and the ball curled perfectly across the box to find Andrea Cambiaso arriving late at the back post who bundled home beyond Koen Casteels for his first senior goal.
It is the first time Italy have scored within the first minute of a match since June 2013 (friendly against Haiti).
What a start for the Azzurri!
