Premier League side Brighton’s CEO revealed that Napoli has gone cold on the Billy Gilmour front.

Speaking in an interview with TalkSport via Alfredo Pedulla, Brighton CEO Paul Barber disclosed that Napoli have not come up with a renewed offer for Billy Gilmour since they rejected the first bid. He said: “We haven’t heard or received anything from Napoli since we rejected an initial offer from them. Billy has been a very important player for us and we are trying to keep him.”

Barber does not consider the player nontransferable as they will be ready to sell him to raise funds if an adequate offer arrives. The CEO claimed: “We know that a number of our players have been targeted by other clubs and we have to live with that and deal with that knowing who we are and where we are in our journey.”

The Serie A outfits are hoping to reshuffle their squad ahead of the new season to come up with a stronger team than last campaign. Barber’s interview makes it clear that Napoli had a confirmed interest in Gilmour a few weeks back and they might still come for him before the summer transfer window ends.
