According to Florian Plettenberg, Brighton & Hove Albion are closing in on the signing of Fenerbahçe full-back Ferdi Kadıoğlu.
Last season, it was reported that both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund were keen on luring Kadıoğlu to the Bundesliga during the January transfer window.
Nevertheless, Der Rekordmiester elected to sign Sascha Boey, while Die Schwarzgelben secured a loan move for then-Chelsea defender Ian Maatsen.
However, BvB’s interest in the Turkish international never faded, with the Black and Yellow’s considering signing Kadıoğlu this summer.
Regardless, due to the financial demands placed on a potential deal by Fenerbahçe, Dortmund decided to pull out of the race to sign the 24-year-old.
This had left Brighton in a position where they faced no competition for the full-back’s signature.
It is now understood that the Premier League outfit are pushing to get a deal over the line, as the player has also emphasised his desire to make the move.
Former St. Pauli head coach Fabian Hürzeler is also keen to bring the Euro 2024 star to the Amex this summer, with the Seagulls ready to meet Fenerbahçe’s €35 million valuation.
