Borussia Dortmund are in talks to sign Brighton’s attacking-midfielder Facundo Buonanotte (20), but it’s since emerged that there is a potential sticking point in BVB’s pursuit of the Argentine.
According to a report from Sky Germany, Brighton see Buonanotte’s long-term future at the club but would be willing to loan the player out. However, the Premier League club are inclined to loan the player with the UK because of the overseas loan rule, which prevents English clubs from loaning a maximum of six players outside of the UK, which Dortmund could feel the consequences of.
However, that won’t put an end to Borussia Dortmund’s pursuit of Buonanotte. Talks are ongoing and the Bundesliga side are ready to submit an offer – a loan with a reported purchase option of around €25m. Whether the buy option entices Brighton to loan the playmaker abroad remains to be seen.
Buonanotte spent last season on loan at Leicester City.
