Brest to sign Lucas Tousart from Union Berlin

Brest have struck a Deadline Day agreement with Bundesliga side Union Berlin to sign Lucas Tousart (28), according to L’Equipe. The 28-year-old midfielder is set to return in Ligue 1 five years after leaving Lyon for Hertha Berlin in a €25m move. The former France youth international has entered the final months of the three-year Union Berlin contract he signed in 2023.

Brest were looking to add muscle and experience in their midfield after parting ways with Mahdi Camara, who joined Brittany rivals Rennes in a €8m move. Les Ty-Zeffs already secured the loan signing of Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe from Eintracht Frankfurt, but they are set to welcome another Bundesliga midfielder in Tousart. Brest have drawn one and lost two of their three Ligue 1 games so far this season.
