Brentford are hopeful of sealing their first signings of the summer transfer window, with Bologna full-back Aaron Hickey and Hull City forward Keane Lewis-Potter nearing deals with the Bees.

The west London side have failed in their attempts to keep Christian Eriksen at the club after he signalled he wants to join Manchester United, but are pushing ahead with moves for two younger players.

Hickey, a 20-year-old full-back who can play on either side, is set to have a medical after Brentford agreed an initial £14m fee for the Scotland international, with add-ons potentially taking the final total to £20m. He became the Bees' primary target in that position after Rasmus Kristensen joined Leeds.

Brentford are also confident of finally signing long-term target Lewis-Potter, and while a deal is still yet to be agreed, there's a belief that it will come soon. The Bees hope an initial £16m fee - similarly rising to £20m - will get the forward through the Jersey Road doors.

Thomas Frank's side also remain in the market for another goalkeeper. David Raya - who ended the season as a Spain international and has since retained his place in Luis Enrique's squad - was sorely missed after picking up a knee injury last November.

Raya's senior understudies from last season have both departed, with Alvaro Fernandez returning to Huesca and Jonas Lossl to Midtjylland following their respective loans. Matthew Cox - who helped England to victory at the Under-19 European Championships recently - was named on the bench on occasion last year.
