Former Wolves centre-back Nathan Collins has admitted he wanted to stay at Molineux this summer but is now enjoying life at new club Brentford.

The Ireland international signed for his fourth club in as many seasons over the summer as the 22-year-old joined the Bees from the Black Country outfit.

“I wanted to stay,” Collins told the Mirror. “I don’t want to keep moving as much as I have.

“But it’s my career and I have to keep making decisions that are the best for my career, my family and the people behind me. We all thought this was the best for my career but I now want a bit of stability.”

Collins has looked assured in his early appearances for Brentford  and the former Burnley man has put that down to the efforts made by his new team-mates.

“It’s mostly been from the lads taking me in,” he added. “I’ve met good people, I’ve made good friends.

“I like going into training in the morning. I really enjoy talking to all the staff. The gaffer has been so good. He’s giving me little details, the way he goes about it is top quality.”

Brentford are currently ninth in the Premier League having won one and drawn two of their first three games.
