West Ham United could see Winston Reid leave for Brentford permanently this summer, with the defender coming on during the Sky Bet Championship play-off final at Wembley to help the Bees into the Premier League.
The men from west London have finally made it into the top-flight after a few attempts where they fell short and they can now look forward to an exciting summer that will see them looking to bolster their squad ready for the ultimate test in the top-flight.
According to exWHUemployee, too, Reid could be a part of their recruitment as they look to add some Premier League knowledge and experience to their ranks.
Speaking on the West Ham Way podcast, the reliable Irons source suggested that Brentford are going to look to make the loan deal permanent this summer now they have achieved promotion.
The Verdict
This could be a deal that makes sense for the Bees.
He’s not going to break the bank, obviously, and though he might not play every week for them in the Premier League he has a bundle of experience that he can use from his time at West Ham, being a key player for the Irons at one point in his career.
Brentford will no doubt make some shrewd moves this summer and this could be one of them for sure.
