Brendan Galloway hopes to return to full fitness and a force a loan move this January.
After enduring a tough loan spell at Sunderland last season, the 22-year-old returned to Goodison Park and has been playing with the Everton U-23s under David Unsworth.
The former England U-21 international could return as soon as mid-December so he can impress potential suitors ahead of the January window.
“Unfortunately he has taken a little bit longer with his hamstring so we are cautious with that, with a view to January,” Unsworth said.
“We don’t want to bring him back too early. He is working hard and should be ready in a couple of weeks.”
Galloway looked ready to make a breakthrough with Everton after he made 15 Premier League appearances in the 2015-16 season, but struggled to impress on loan at West Brom and Sunderland.
