Earlier this month, Vinicius Junior received a bumper offer from Saudi Arabian outfit Al Ahli, who are desperate to bring the Brazilian international to the Middle East.

The offer from Al Ahli didn’t appear to be much of a threat for Real Madrid initially. But soon after the exact details of the offer came to light, Real Madrid have grown just a bit more insecure, largely due to the sheer amount of the offer.

Indeed, Al Ahli were willing to hand Vinicius a bumper contract worth €1 billion over five seasons – making him by far the highest-paid athlete in the world.

Fabinho talks about Vinicius’ offer

In a recent interaction, Fabinho, Vinicius’ compatriot, revealed that he had discussed the offer from Saudi Arabia.

“We talked about Viní Jr. [the offer from Saudi], and it’s something unimaginable man, something unbelievable. An offer you can’t refuse,” Fabinho said (h/t Defensa Central).

Formerly of Liverpool, Fabinho currently plies his trade with Saudi Arabian outfit Al Ittihad. He is, in fact, a teammate of former Real Madrid attacker Karim Benzema.

Over the past 12 months, Fabinho has reaped the rewards of playing in Saudi Arabia, with the midfielder earning quite a fortune at Al Ittihad.

Being someone who knows a fair deal about playing in Saudi Arabia, Fabinho’s statement hardly comes as a surprise, especially knowing the offer made to Vinicius could have outshone any individual deal in the sporting universe.

Vinicius, though, has shown no signs of potentially considering the ‘billion’ dollar offer from Saudi Arabia and remain focused on his career at Real Madrid.
