Brazil are the most successful team in FIFA World Cup history.

The South American nation have lifted football’s most coveted trophy five times, with their most recent triumph coming in 2002.

Brazil’s first World Cup success was in 1958 when a teenage sensation named Pele lit up the tournament and they then won it again four years later in 1962.

The Selecao also got their hands on the beautiful Jules Rimet trophy in both 1970 and 1994.

As well as winning the World Cup more times than any other country, Brazil have never failed to qualify for the tournament since it was first played back in 1930.

So it’s perhaps no wonder that they sit comfortably atop the all-time World Cup table, which has recently been posted to Reddit.

Brazil have also scored the most goals of any nation and boast the best overall goal difference record by far.

Brazil’s record really is mighty impressive and Germany’s certainly isn’t bad either. Die Mannschaft, who’ve won the World Cup four times, are currently 65 points clear of Italy in third.

England sit in sixth and are the highest-placed team who have only lifted the trophy on just one occasion or less.

Holland and Sweden are the only members of the top 10 to have never won the tournament, the former losing out in the 1974, 1978 and 2010 finals.

One of the big surprises is that Portugal’s record at World Cups is only good enough for 17th spot in the table, behind the likes of Poland, Mexico and Hungary.

The country that’s produced legendary players like Eusebio, Luis Figo and current captain Cristiano Ronaldo has never even reached a final, though, so it’s no wonder they’re clinging on to a place in the top 20.
