Brandt laments second half performance in Dortmund defeat | OneFootball

Borussia Dortmund missed out on the chance to top of the table as they slumped to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Cologne in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

After Dormund took the lead in the first half, the hosts scored three times without a reply in the second period and goalscorer Julian Brandt was left rueing missed opportunities.

“We performed well in the first half and had a lot of good chances,” said the 26-year-old.

“We could have done ourselves a favour by scoring a second goal. We then came out for the second half and simply defended badly. We quickly conceded the three goals in a relatively short period of time. That cannot be allowed to happen.

“We knew it wouldn’t be easy here. But you can’t offer that kind of showing in the second half.”

Edin Terzić’s side remain fourth on 15 points as they now turn their focus towards the Champions League and Sevilla on Wednesday.
