Roma midfielder Edoardo Bove was pleased with his team’s grittiness following their 2-1 victory this evening over Salernitana.

The Giallorossi scored twice after the break to secure their second consecutive victory, lifting them to just one point from fourth-placed Atalanta.

“This was a very tough game,” Bove told DAZN. “We started well in the first half but we got scared off after some of their counterattacks and we moved the ball too slowly.”

“However, we did very well after the break and scored twice. Salernitana didn’t give up even when we had a two-goal advantage, we did well to suffer together and win.”

Adding, “It’s a wonderful feeling to have De Rossi as manager. His role as a player was a bit similar to mine, so I’m even happier that he can give me certain advice and a lot of guidance. I’m very happy.”

“Fourth place? Given how difficult things were in the last period for us, we needed to find certainties and our sense of unity again. This was the first objective, but as for the table we have to take things one game at a time. Obviously we’re aiming for fourth position but all we can do is stay on this path.”
