Bournemouth have reportedly reached an agreement with Juventus to sign 19-year-old defender Dean Huijsen. The Cherries are set to beat several top sides to the Dutchman’s signature with the move close to being a done deal. According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus will receive €18m including add-ons, with a sell-on clause also included in the deal. Huijsen is set to undergo medical tests before being unveiled as the Premier League side’s fifth summer signing.

Born in Amsterdam, Dean Huijsen represented the Netherlands at various youth international levels having played for the U17s, U18s and U19s. The youngster moved with his family to Marbella when he was just five years old and earlier this year he chose to represent Spain after becoming a Spanish citizen.

The centre-back rose through the ranks in Juventus’ academy before joining Roma on loan in January. He featured 14 times for the club scoring two goals and providing an assist. Now, he’s set to sign for Bournemouth where he’ll play under Spanish boss Andoni Iraola.
