As per Fabrizio Romano, Bournemouth are set to complete the signing of Milos Kerkez from AZ Alkmaar.
The left-back is said to have agreed personal terms yesterday with the South Coast side, and both clubs have agreed on the deal, with AZ giving the ‘green light’ for it to go ahead.
The agreement comes just one week after the player agreed terms and accepted Lazio as his next club, however, The Cherries ‘hijacked’ the move and are now on the verge of completing the deal.
Furthermore, although the exact fee that has been agreed for the 8-time capped Hungarian international is not known, the Dutch side are understood to value him at around €15-20m, whilst Transfermarkt currently estimate his market value is €15m, up from just €700,000 last June.
Having moved to the Alkmar for just €1.2m from AC Milan’s youth side in January 2022, the 19-year-old has already gained valuable experience around Europe, making 44 appearances in both the Eredivisie and the Europa Conference League combined- the latter of which he scored two and assisted three times in, proving vital in helping Pascal Jansen’s side reach the Semi-Final, which they narrowly lost to eventual winners West Ham.
The signing of Kerkez is set to be the third at The Vitality Stadium this summer, with the arrival of Justin Kluivert from Roma already being confirmed, whilst Romain Faivre has joined from Lyon and will be loaned out to Lorient, who share the same owners as Bournemouth.
The new arrivals mark what looks to be an exciting season for Andoni Iraola’s new side, as he will look to improve upon the 15th place finish former Manager Gary O’Neil acheived last season.
