AFC Bournemouth are monitoring Rennes centre-forward Kyogo Furuhashi (30) and his teammate Adrien Truffert (23), who plays at left-back, according to Le Parisien. The Japanese international is not expected to stick around in Brittany. Furuhashi joined Rennes in the winter transfer window from Celtic FC, with former Celtic Park cult hero Jota going the other way.

Furuhashi was a target for Jorge Sampaoli, but the Argentine head coach was eventually dismissed a couple of days after the centre-forward joined on a two-and-a-half-year contract. His successor in the Roazhon Park dugout, Habib Beye, barely fielded Furuhashi. The Japanese international is yet to open his account for Les Rouge et Noir.

Rennes are also trying to part ways with Furuhashi, and the 30-year-old Japanese international may be on his way back to Great Britain. Le Parisien adds that Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth have positioned themselves to find out the terms of his Rennes exit. The Cherries may also sign one of Furuhashi’s teammates: Adrien Truffert. The Belgium-born France international is expected to leave his formative club this summer. The Premier League club would be on the market for a left-back, considering Liverpool are in talks with Milos Kerkez, and they are reportedly monitoring Truffert’s situation.
