Aston Villa and Marseille interested in Rennes left-back Adrien Truffert | OneFootball

According to a report from L’Équipe, Olympique de Marseille could look to recruit Stade Rennais fullback Adrien Truffet (23) this summer if Quentin Merlin (23) leaves the club.

Merlin and Marseille will reportedly take stock of their situation after the UEFA European Under-21 Championship, with the left-back representing France at the competition. Both parties could be open to a transfer, with Bournemouth reportedly interested.

If that were to happen, Marseille could try to reignite their interest in Truffert, who they had been linked to during the winter transfer window. However, the left-back is about to enter the final year of his contract at Rennes and is being looked at by Aston Villa.

Marseille could try to sweeten the deal for Rennes by including Ismaël Koné (22). The Canadian international who spent half of the season on loan at Rennes, reportedly has no future in La Provence after a disappointing move from Watford FC last summer.
