The National Professional Football League (LNFP) has issued a statement announcing the postponement of the start of the 2025-2026 season in Morocco.
"Originally scheduled for early August, the season's kick-off has been pushed back due to the staging of the African Nations Championship (CHAN). A new date will be announced at a later time," the statement reads.
As a result, fans of Morocco's top flight will have to wait a little longer to see the ball rolling again in stadiums across the Kingdom. In the meantime, clubs are continuing their intensive preparations ahead of the new campaign.
As a reminder, reigning champions RS Berkane will be traveling to Olympique Dcheira on the opening day. Wydad Casablanca will host Kawkab Marrakech, while Raja Casablanca head to Rabat to take on FUS.
Two other major decisions were also announced by the LNFP: the extension of the summer transfer window until August 25, 2025, and the full management of the new U21 national championship by the company Evosport.
