The latest news on Borussia Mönchengladbach and German national team striker Tim Kleindienst’s return from major surgery isn’t great. Gladbach sporting director Roland Virkus informed reporters on Sunday that the nature of Kleindienst’s meniscus tear required more patience. The 29-year-old’s total time on the sidelines will stretch out for six months, well into the 2025/26 Bundesliga campaign.

Virkus specifically noted that Gladbach weren’t expecting Kleindienst back before November 2025 at the earliest. The foals have still not signed a direct replacement for the striker who led their squad with 16 league goals last year. By the time Kleindienst is expected to return to action, around one-third of next year’s Bundesliga season will be complete.

The healing process after the surgery is progressing very well,” Virkus told reporters from the sidelines of Gladbach’s training camp. “Tim would love to be back and is very determined, but we have to be patient and wait until November.
