The player in question? Mateu Morey.

Defender Morey, for his part, has spent the last five years of his career on the books of the aforementioned Borussia Dortmund.

Unfortunately for the 24-year-old, however, his stint in the Bundesliga has been ravaged by injuries.

The BVB brass, as a result, have come to the decision to allow Morey to move on, upon the expiration of his contract terms at the end of the month.

And, if the right-back has his way, a return to his home country of Spain will be on the agenda over the weeks ahead.

Speaking in an interview with Esports IB3, as cited by Mundo Deportivo, this week, Morey was asked for the latest on his plans for next season.

And the former Spanish youth international pointed towards Mallorca, with whom he spent time developing early in his career, as something of a dream landing spot:

“My priority is to return close to home, to Spain. I have been away for a long time. I have always said that Mallorca will have a very special place in my heart and in that of my family. Football moves very fast and you never know what can happen, but it would be very special to wear the Mallorca shirt again.”
