Niclas Füllkrug likely to start for Germany against Denmark | OneFootball

Sky Germany reports that Borussia Dortmund striker Niclas Füllkrug will likely start for Germany in their round of 16 tie against Denmark on Saturday.

In the training sessions leading up to the game, Füllkrug was the one constant up front as everyone else was rotated. This indicates that he will likely start.

However, Florian Wirtz could be the player that is likely dropped from the squad with Kai Havertz maintaing his place in the starting 11.

Füllkrug has had to make do with being an impact sub during the group stages but still has two goals this name. Scoring the fourth in Germany’s 5-1 win against Scotland as well as scoring the crucial equaliser in the final group game against Switzerland to assure Germany topped the group.

Whether Antonio Rüdiger will start for Germany on tomorrow is currently unknown. A decision will be made closer to the time. Rüdiger’s defensive partner, Jonathan Tah will miss the game against Denmark through suspension and will likely be replaced by Nico Schlotterbeck.
