Daichi Kamada, who found the net in the recent 2-0 win over the USA, started Japan’s match against Ecuador in Düsseldorf on the bench. He entered the fray in the 67th minute in a game that finished goalless.

Marcel Wenig and the Germany U19s qualified for the elite round of U19 EURO qualifying in March 2023 as group winners after beating Slovakia 1-0. Wenig came off the bench in the latter stages of the contest.

Djibril Sow’s Switzerland took on the Czech Republic at FC St. Gallen’s Kybunpark in their final game of the UEFA Nations League group stage. Sow was taken off in the 79th minute as the hosts emerged 2-1 winners.

Ansgar Knauff and Faride Alidou suffered another defeat with Germany’s U21s against England on Tuesday. The Eagles duo both came on in the 74th minute at 2-1 down but were unable to spark a recovery.

Hrvoje Smolcic was left out of Croatia U21s’ game against their Danish counterparts. Croatia eventually triumphed 5-4 on penalties, meaning Smolcic can now look forward to playing at the European U21 Championship next year.
