Bolton Wanderers could potentially have goalkeeper Nathan Baxter back in time for Friday’s meeting with Stevenage in League One, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

The Trotters are outside the top two automatic promotion spots in League One, but sit just four points behind second placed Derby County with a game in hand.

They are due to pay a visit to Steve Evans’ Stevenage on Good Friday and could receive a big injury boost.

Goalkeeper Baxter has been out of action with a hand injury, but he is now set to return to training.

The shot-stopper is advanced in his recovery and he could even put himself in the mix for the Stevenage game.

Boss Ian Evatt may be wary of rushing Baxter back into action, but having the goalkeeper at a crunch point of the season is a big boost.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper, who landed at Bolton last summer, has made 28 appearances in League One this term.

Baxter played against Stevenage earlier this season and helped Bolton to come out on the right side of a five-goal thriller.
