Bologna target and former Spezia defender Jakub Kiwior is no longer expected to leave the Emirates this summer, despite long-standing interest from the Rossoblu and a handful of other Serie A clubs.
Bologna, Milan, Juventus, Atalanta and even Inter have all been linked with a move for the Poland international at various stages of the summer transfer window, but he is increasingly likely to stay on with Mikel Arteta in North London.
According to recent updates from Gianluca Di Marzio, Arsenal are no longer willing to let Kiwior leave this summer.
The versatile defender was not called up for Arsenal’s opening game of the Premier League season against Wolves, but returned to the matchday squad for the 2-0 win over Aston Villa on Saturday.
Bologna are still on the hunt for a new defender after selling Italy international Riccardo Calafiori to Arsenal earlier this summer.
As Kiwior is no longer an option, Bologna are now focussing on 21-year-old defender Martin Vitik from Sparta Prague instead. The towering centre-back earned his first cap for the Czechia national team in 2023.
