Boca Juniors activate €3.5m release clause for Leandro Paredes

Leandro Paredes is edging closer to the exit door as he nears a return to Argentina with Boca Juniors.

The Buenos Aires side have been in discussions with the Roma midfielder for several months, with both parties eager for a reunion.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Boca Juniors have already agreed to activate the €3.5 million release clause in Paredes’ contract. The move is expected to become official after 30 June, when Paredes will fly to Argentina to pen his three-year deal worth €2 million per season.

The 30 year-old, who played for Boca before launching his European career, hasn’t hid his desire to reunite with his boyhood club.
