The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at EFL newbies Bromley, and seriously impressed during his time at the club. He was reportedly the subject of a £750,000 bid from Wycombe Wanderers in January, which was turned down.

After the success of his most recent loan, Imray's next step on the footballing ladder is League One, as reports from Alan Nixon on Sunday suggested that Huddersfield Town, Blackpool, and Bolton Wanderers were all in the race to sign the defender.

However, the race to sign the Palace hotshot looks to be all but over, as Mike McGrath has reported via X that the Seasiders have beaten their third tier rivals to the signature of Imray.

The full-back is now set to join up with Steve Bruce's side for the upcoming season, as the former Premier League outfit look to challenge towards the top of the table in the upcoming season.

The Tangerines have already been very busy in the summer transfer window, as they gear up for an assault at the top of League One in the upcoming season, with marquee signings such as Niall Ennis and Jordan Brown arriving at Bloomfield Road.

But Blackpool are far from done as they look to seal a return to the Championship, and it was revealed by Nixon on Sunday that they and Bolton had joined the race to sign Crystal Palace star Imray.

Huddersfield were initially reported to be leading the race for the defender, but journalist McGrath has now revealed via X that the Eagles hotshot will be heading to the seaside town, to link up with Bruce's side for 2025/26.

After a successful loan spell at Bromley last term, Imray wasn't short of suitors in League One this summer, and the 21-year-old is now set to join an ambitious Blackpool side, as he continues his development.

Winning Imray race is a huge statement for Blackpool

The third tier of English football is looking really difficult to call early on, as plenty of clubs have made some excellent signings, who you could certainly make a case for promotion about.

Blackpool definitely fit into this category, as they've quietly had an excellent transfer window, and are looking to build on last season's disappointing mid-table finish, after a slow start which saw Neil Critchley sacked.

When you consider the other clubs that were in for Imray, who are also expected to be fighting right at the summit of League One next season, beating these clubs and winning the race for his services is a massive statement of intent by the Seasiders.

Bruce is building something very strong at Bloomfield Road this summer, and the former Manchester United defender will be feeling doubly delighted that he's managed to fend off interest from promotion rivals, and bring his man to the seaside town.
