Birmingham City defender Siobhan Wilson has signed a new contract with the club which will run until summer 2025.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from the Blues this evening.

Wilson is one of the most exciting full-backs in the Barclays Women’s Championship with the player being equally as impressive on the attack as she is with her defensive work. The Blues signed Wilson from Crystal Palace in summer 2022 and she made 17 appearances for the club in last season’s Barclays Women’s Championship in which she scored two goals.

An Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury has sidelined Wilson for the last nine months but the player is nearing fitness and she will be hoping to complete her comeback before the end of the season.

After extending her contract at Birmingham City, Wilson said “I am over the moon to be fair. I am just grateful after everything I’ve been through for the past nine months and for the Club to still believe in me.

“Having an ACL injury and going through that whole process, it is probably the hardest thing mentally that I’ve had to deal with. For the Club to acknowledge everything that I’ve been through and reward me with a new deal, I am extremely grateful because I have seen instances where players have had this injury coming towards the end of their contract and they are left with nothing.”

Once fit, Wilson will be hoping to help Birmingham City to continue their push for a return to the Barclays Women’s Super League.
