Birmingham City defender Banaras joins Wolves on dual-registration deal | OneFootball

Birmingham City defender Layla Banaras has joined FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division club Wolverhampton Wanderers on a dual-registration arrangement for the 2024/2025 season.

The Blues announced news of the deal via a post on their official club X account this afternoon.

Banaras joined Birmingham City’s Regional Talent Centre (RTC) at the age of eight and she went on to negotiate her way through the Blues’ various youth age groups to the first team. The teenager made her senior debut for the Midlands club in an Adobe Women’s FA Cup tie against Huddersfield Town in the 2022/2023 season.

Since making her senior debut, Banaras has remained in and around the Birmingham City first team squad, although further game time has not yet followed. The youngster needs a run of games to continue her development and she will now get that in the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division with Wolverhampton Wanderers this season.

The youngster returns to Wolves after enjoying a short spell with Dan McNamara’s side last season. Banaras spent the second half of the campaign with the club in which she made 10 appearances.

Banaras could make her second debut for Wolves in this afternoon’s FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division opener against Stourbridge.
