A club statement on Thursday afternoon confirmed that camera crews have followed the Second City outfit behind-the-scenes across a season in which Chris Davies' side have already secured promotion in record-breaking fashion ahead of their upcoming trip to Wembley Stadium against Peterborough United in the EFL Trophy final.

Blues aren't the only side who are capturing their current success in League One, with Disney+ also announcing that the fourth instalment of Welcome to Wrexham will be available to stream from May 16th as part of a six-week docuseries.

Confirmation of such plans only echoes what lies ahead for Bluenoses in a season which has seen plenty of high-profile sponsorship deals increase revenue streams at St Andrew's @ Knighthead Park.

The aforementioned club statement clarifies that the documentary will showcase the mentality instilled throughout the club, with the likes of owner, Tom Wagner and minority shareholder, Tom Brady at the forefront, as well as how the club's current and future ambition aligns with the recently coined motto of 'Birmingham. On the rise again'.

"Embedded camera crews have followed the first-team players, coaching staff and key ownership figures from pre-season to promotion, including Birmingham City’s Chairman Tom Wagner, Co-Founder and Co-Managing Member of Knighthead Capital Management, LLC, and American football legend, Tom Brady, as the club fights to instil a winning culture and climb the English football pyramid," the statement began.

"Beyond the day-to-day football operations, the documentary will also explore the unique cultural heritage of Birmingham City and a supporter base who have remained loyal despite a sustained period without success or silverware. The documentary will shine a spotlight on this community’s resurgence, illustrating how the football club plans to drive its transformation."

It has also been confirmed that the series will be produced by Religion of Sports and Whisper, with Blues' investor and NFL icon, Brady, working in conjunction with co-founder of Religion of Sports, Gotham Chopra.

Matt Alvarez, the producer of 'Straight Outta Compton' will spearhead the production aspect alongside lifelong Bluenose and the creator of Peaky Blinders, Stephen Knight, as well as being co-directed by Claudia Corbisiero.

Blues now join the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Leeds United when it comes to Premier League and current EFL outfits who have seen exclusive behind-the-scenes documentaries produced on Prime Video.

Prior to the announcement of the compelling series, Knight had been talking up his side's chances of adding to an already remarkable season under Davies as they head to Wembley for the sixth time in the club's history, 14 years after their underdog triumph against Arsenal in the EFL Cup final.

"I don't care what the trophy is. There'll be 50,000 of us singing 'Keep Right On' - it'll be fantastic," he told the BBC.

Referrring to the late, late show against the Gooners back in 2011, Knight said: "I was with two of my sons who were quite young. When Obafemi Martins put the ball in - I said they were going to equalise.

"It was two minutes to go and it was plenty of time. But when the final whistle went, I was in tears.

"This will be the same. I always lose my voice for about a week after," he added.

This season has represented a sea change from recent normality in B9, and supporters will now be glad they can bask in the glory of their success, as well as hoping a global audience takes note of the club's high ceiling.
