Beth Mead has committed her future to Arsenal, signing a new contract with the club.

The star of the summer, Mead was named Player of the Tournament and won the Golden Boot as England won Euro 2022 on home soil before finishing second in the 2022 Ballon d’Or vote.

Her superb run in the summer followed a brilliant 2021/22 season that saw Mead score 11 goals and assist a further eight in 20 Women’s Super League appearances.

Mead started the current season in similar form, with three goals and four assists in seven games before suffering an ACL injury late last month.

The 27-year-old is unlikely to feature again this season and is not expected to recover in time for next summer’s World Cup.

“I’m so happy to have signed a new deal with Arsenal,” Mead told the club’s official website.

“This club is home for me – I’ve grown so much here as a player and a person and I know we can achieve so much more together in the years to come.

“I want to compete to win the biggest trophies in the game and I know that the ambitions at Arsenal match my own, so I can’t wait to get back onto the pitch and help to deliver the success our supporters deserve.”

Mead joined Arsenal from Sunderland in 2017 and has scored 57 times in 144 appearances for the club, winning the WSL once and the Women’s League Cup once.
