The 25-year-old joined the Magpies from Portsmouth in January 2024 and made her debut that month against Nottingham Forest. Lumsden made eleven appearances in all competitions on the way to helping Becky Langley’s team to the third-tier title last season.

The current campaign has seen Lumsden score five times from 15 appearances, including a memorable brace in the 2-1 derby victory over Sunderland in October last year.

On signing her new deal, Lumsden said: "I've very excited to extend my stay with this fantastic football club which is going in the right direction. I'm glad to be a part of this journey.

"I love the area as well as the football club and I want to carry on succeeding with Newcastle United.

"I think we are destined for big things and my goals certainly match those of the club which is to be playing in the Women's Super League."

Head Coach Becky Langley added: "We've been really impressed with Beth this season and her ability on both feet is one of the best in the league. We want players with that kind of quality at the football club, and she's a great girl as well as a great player.

"She has scored important goals for us this season, notably her braces against both Sunderland and Bristol City which were really impressive.

"I'm delighted with Beth's development. I'd previously worked with her on a camp with the England Colleges team in Portugal so I was aware of her talent before we signed her. She was in a part-time programme before signing for us, so it's been important to us that Beth's journey has accelerated over the past twelve months."
