Sint-Truiden have announced that head coach Bernd Hollerbach will leave the club at the end of the season. The German’s contract is up at the end of the season, and the club and Hollerbach have decided not to extend the contract. Club CEO Tateishi said “We would like to thank coach Hollerbach for his commitment and professionalism”.
After years of languishing near the bottom of the table, Hollerbach used a solid defence to lead the side to their best finish for years in 2021-2022, when they missed out on the play-offs on the last day of the season. Talking on the club website about the decision, Hollerbach said “Anyone who knows me knows that I will continue to give everything for Sint-Truiden, until the last day of my contract”.
Sint-Truiden are currently in 10th place in the Belgian Pro League, with 23 points from 17 games. Once again they have one of the best defensive records in the league, with just 19 goals conceded. They have struggled to take their chances at the other end however, with just 17 goals in their 17 games.
