Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva insists he is focused on finishing the season strongly with the Cityzens amid speculation of interest from Real Madrid.

Silva has been open about his desire to explore other opportunities this summer, prompting interest from the Spanish giants, who are in the market for a new midfielder.

Los Blancos see the Portuguese playmaker as an alternative to top target Jude Bellingham as they are in a three-way tussle for the English sensation with Premier League duo Liverpool and Man City.

The 28-year-old’s current deal with the English champions runs until 2025, but there is every chance he could depart the Etihad Stadium this summer.

However, the midfielder is currently focused on helping City win silverware as Pep Guardiola’s side looks to defend their Premier League crown while adding Champions League and FA Cup success.

“Honestly, all the talk doesn’t affect me,” Silva said (via Mundo Deportivo). “I try to do my best, and then, whatever happens, will happen.

“There are three months of competition left and so many important things we can fight for, like the Champions League, which we’ve always wanted to win.

“Even so, if we win this Premier League, it’s five in six seasons, which is a great achievement, and the FA Cup, which we have won only once since I have been here.”

Silva was a priority target for Barcelona last summer, but the Blaugranas were thwarted by their precarious economic situation and City’s enormous asking price.

They remain interested in the former AS Monaco midfielder but will struggle to compete with the financial power of their Spanish counterparts for the player’s signature.

Despite his openness to leave the Etihad in the near future, Silva has remained a core part of Guardiola’s treble-chasing squad this term.

The former Benfica maestro has featured 39 times for the English champions in all competitions, netting four times while creating a further five.
